Teulada

The wild charm of the southwest of the island

Between the imposing Cape Teulada and Cape Spartivento
Discovering a coastline as wild as it is fascinating

Teulada is a small and picturesque town in the lower Sulcis region about 65 km from Cagliari, located inland and home to the Marina of the same name located in the center of the large gulf between Capo Malfatano and Capo Teulada, opposite Isola Rossa. The area is characterized by very little anthropization and the majesty of its wild landscapes.

The presence of the three great capes Spartivento, Malfatano and Teulada, which have marked the routes of those who sail across the Mediterranean since the dawn of time, gives sailing trips to this stretch of coast a special, ancient and adventurous flavor.

Our skippers will take you with great confidence to discover these mythical and wild coastlines in a unique experience of adventure and comfort.

Itineraries, Bays & Landings

Our landings are distributed along the most beautiful coastlines of Sardegna!

Departing from our base at TEULADA_Marina di Teulada you can discover many enchanting, deserted beaches and bays, where the finest sand and crystal clear sea take center stage, sailing under the lofty cliffs of the great Capi: from Piscinnì to the renowned Tuerredda and on to the unparalleled Chia, or from Cala S'Ortixeddu (known as the Americans' beach) to Cala Zafferano and beyond that to the extreme Cape Teulada.

Putting the bow to the west, one will instead sail into the 'military' waters of Cala S'Ortixeddu (known as the Americans' beach) to Cala Zafferano and beyond still Cape Teulada to the white dunes of Porto Pino. Opposite the port, just a few minutes' boat ride away, are Porto Tramatzu and Isola Rossa, ideal places for a charming evening aperitif.

A small island with reddish hues that alternates between high cliffs and low rocks, a wild pearl in the Gulf of Teulada to be circumnavigated by sailing.

Rugged and jagged in pure granite, Isola Rossa offers many scenic vistas to admire as you sail near its coastline. On the northwest side are the ruins of an old tuna processing plant dating back to the early 1900s and is an important nesting area for the Corsican Gull and Greater Berta. It is included within the maritime boundaries of the Teulada Military Polygon and is periodically interdicted especially during periodic military exercises.

Location suitable for a short stop with a swim or an atmospheric circumnavigation to discover its rocky ravines. On paticularly calm days with little wind, it is a good place to have an aperitif or long stop with snorkeling.

The Conformation of the island allows suggestive anchorage in light winds from Libeccio (Southwest) to Ponente (West).

A small enchanted bay rich in history, with a turquoise sea and a beach of fine white sand.

The bay takes its name from the Pisicnnì Tower that stands on the southeast side of the bay and also gives its name to the pond located behind the beach. With crystal-clear turquoise-colored water, thanks to a white sandy bottom, the bay lends itself to long stops for swimming and often also as a night shelter. In addition to the 17th-century Aragonese tower, there is a large area on the eastern side used as a sandstone quarry in Punic-Roman times, the squared-off remains of which can be seen as blocks being quarried.

Great shelter for an aperitif, a bathroom stop or as an intermediate stop during the daily sail. Also perfect as a lunch stop or long break with snorkeling.

Capo Malfatano is a wide area of sea surrounding a promontory full of ravines, small bays and beaches of different colors. With crystal-clear emerald-colored water, it offers shelter to a deep bay full of shallow rocky bottoms that was used as a natural harbor since Phoenician times and then later by the Punics and Romans, of which the ruins of sandstone landing jetties now submerged remain. Behind the small beach at the end of the bay is a brackish water pond still used for fishing and boat storage.

Great shelter for an aperitif, a bathroom stop or as an intermediate stop during the daily sail. Also perfect as a lunch stop or long break with snorkeling.

Recently freed from a military easement that engaged half the beach, Porto Tramatzu Bay is home to a beautiful white beach surrounded by dense Mediterranean maquis. It hosts a campground, hardly visible from the sea, and an old military bathing establishment in a state of disrepair. The very fine sand and the transparency of the water invite you to treat yourself to long swims with a splendid view of Isola Rossa, which is just under a kilometer away.

Excellent shelter in all winds, even intense winds ranging from Ponente (West) to Levante (East).

The symbolic beach of the military occupation of the island, the scene of simulated warfare and raids by amphibious vehicles.

Wonderful beach of fine, off-white sand with pink reflections on the shoreline resulting from small fragments of shells. Large dunes surround it, leaving space for a wide valley of land with no obvious signs of anthropization apart from small military buildings. Area included in the military polygon of Teulada and for this reason accessible only by sea and only in July and August ,assuming there are no exercises in place, and without the possibility of anchoring and descent to land. The scene of assaults and war simulations, this earthly paradise is also used to fire and and explode all kinds of war munitions, light and heavy, in joint and inter-force operations by the militaries of half the world.

Moving stop during the daily sail to Cape Teulada. While it is an ideal landing place of rare beauty, anchoring is not possible due to restrictive ordinances arising from the use of the beach as a military polygon.a lends itself both to short stops and to aperitifs and snorkeling sessions.

Long, narrow rocky promontory and extreme southern tip of Sardegna.

Pointing to the extreme south of Sardinia, it is a narrow tongue of rock with sheer walls reaching up to 200 meters in height. Dotted with small inlets, caves and granite ridges, Capo Teulada was also the base of the ancient Roman-era settlement called "Tegula." It offers beautiful scenery while sailing but can become difficult due to exposure to most prevailing winds and waves coming in from the western and northwestern quadrants.
